Last weekend was the fair and our kids love to get dressed up in their hat and boots and head up to the fair. This was the first year that Carter was so excited, so we found as close to a cowboy hat as possible and put on his way too big boots. Since we don't have a real horse, Bryce sat him on "Arnold", named after the horse next door.

I am once again amazed that another year has passed and my baby girl is 4! I feel so blessed to have her in my life. This past conference a talk was given by a seventy (I do not remember his name) and he said that there are children in your life that will bring many challenges that may be hard to deal with. He said remember that you need them in your life as much as they need you in theirs. There is a reason they were sent to you. I am finding this to be very true with my daughter. We have our challenges, but I learn from her on a daily basis.

She is so strong willed and independent, yet so is her mother! Why would she not be like me?

I admire those qualities in her and her desire to stand up for herself and to truly know what she will and will not do. This is what I would teach my young women and she sure has decided this at her very young age.

What a blessing she is! It has been fun to watch her grow in Primary and see how much of the gospel she really knows. She is learning so fast and developing at such a fast pace. She seems far beyond her years. I pray that I will be able to "guide" her in the right direction and give her the tools that she needs to be successful and happy in her life. I love her and cherish my only daughter. I pray that we will always have a sweet mother daughter bond and she knows how much I love her, to the moon and back! What a sweet blessing my sweet Leilani is, Happy Birthday baby girl!

My Little Pony

Happy 4th Birthday! It was a fun filled day. She requested a My Little Pony party and we did the best we could. Her favorite pony is Pinkie Pie, since she has a big version of her, so I made her cake Pinkie Pie. I have to say thank you again to my friend who introduced me to the quick and easy method of frosting on saran wrap over your picture, freezing it and then flipping it onto the cake, genious! Note to others, wax paper does not work, hence the no picture of Carter's cake!

We had a party with her friends, and that was nice. I have had a goal for her to have girlfriends this year and she does yay!

We played pin the tail on the donkey, closest thing to a pony we could find. Nothing else was planned except eat and play, tis all you need right?

Achy Breaky Heart

Leilani's ballet class had the chance to perform at the Fair this year. She has been so excited to perform and this time I actually have a video! Thanks babe, for recording it, it actually worked this time! She is pretty cute up there, made this here mama shed a tear, my baby girl is growing up! I can somehow blame this on my wacky hormones after just having a baby right? Nah, its just me being an emotional mom who is sadden by how fast they grow up and so happy to see who she is becoming.

Keller Palike Montierth

Welcome to our family baby Keller. Keller was born on Wednesday March 30th at 2:09 pm. He weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces, and 20 1/2 inches long. Keller is my mom's maiden and we are unsure of the orgin, if it is Irish or not, I believe so, but not quite sure. Palike (Pa-lee-kay) is Hawaiian for Bryce, which we think is suiting.

His delivery was relatively smooth, it wasn't until after that they realized he had a few complications. Keller had what is called pneumothorax, which is fairly common in c-section babies. He had air in his lungs, both sides and most of the time it clears up on its own, which thankfully his did. I saw him for maybe 5 minutes, after Bryce begged the nurses to bring him to me, they weren't going to. After those few minutes, I didn't see him until Thursday morning, it was awful! He had to be on oxygen, had a few chest x-rays and an IV, all of this without me there. I was pretty much a basketcase that first night!

Once I got him, I had him most of the day. It was horrible to see his arm taped up to keep the IV in place and then they attached the oxygen to his face which caused his cheeks to be red, which they still are. He is doing really well now.

We got home on Saturday and the kids have been going crazy! They are completely in love with him and it is very sweet to see them with him. I was a little worried about Carter's reaction, but he loves him. He talks about baby Kewhar (those ll's are hard for a 2 year old!) and how much he loves him.

They are obsessed with holding him, which is quite sweet. Leilani is very attentive and is a little mother and Brady is too. Almost a fight over who can hold him first and who can help mom. We feel very blessed that he is apart of our family. The feel of a newborn is unlike anything else and once again, I am in love!

Last Day

Today is my last day with only 3 of these little ones. I am getting very excited to meet this new little guy that I have been blessed with knowing for the past 9 months. I cannot believe that the day is coming!

Tomorrow I check-in at the hospital in the morning, but will not get to meet him until the afternoon. The doc doesn't want me to pass out, so I am going in early to start an IV. No food or drink before a spinal tap (yuck! makes me queasy just thinking about it!)

Gus-gus has been moving like crazy and I can't wait to get my hands on him. There is nothing like a fresh sweet spirit straight from Our Father in Heaven to put everything into perspective, what a blessing they truly are!

Here's to tomorrow! Maybe we will have a moved from a prenatal name to a real name, love our gus-gus though!
